1. Summary of the role
This role is to provide local leadership, develop and drive the local product line and support the product portfolio strategies for the designated product lines with the primary objective of achieving profitable growth and long-term competitiveness.

The position will work fluidly with manufacturing, sales, marketing and R&D personnel to drive the business in a way that effectively manages products, materials and capabilities. This person must be strongly influential.
Provide leadership and direction by leading the factory product engineering team, and coordinating with the factory general manager and product line director to achieve the strategy.
The individual assumes the lead role within the factory to define and implement tactics to achieve targets for sales revenue growth through providing sales support, supporting new product launches , lifecycle management, and give input to annual business plan in accordance with TSS processes. In addition, work with the local team on resolution of cost related issues and by working with key functional areas such as: Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Application Engineering, Finance, R&D, where relevant.


2. Tasks and Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:
- Align local product line needs and activities with the Global Product Line Manager/GPLD
- Implement and execute the local product line strategy to improve the product line team, processes, and way of working in the organization.
- Work with the GPLM to evaluate, update and implement the product line strategy on a regular basis.
- Align product engineering to work as a team to acheive the defined targets
- Implement globally approved engineering design tools and processes. Drive the development of the team and technical expertise.
- Be an active team member of the global product line team and work with other Product Managers in globally defined activities.
- Identify and implement areas of improvement though product design to to improve cost savings, manufacturing efficiency opportunities and rationalization.
- Set and tack metrics and drive execution of processes, include those defined within the product line and general managment.
Tactics:
- Provide input into the factory annual business plan to support sales and new product development, working with the GPLM, GM, Controller, Operations Manager and Commercial Manager.
- Travel to support CSC' s customer opportunities, factory, product promotion.
- Ensure product training materials and training sessions are completed
- Engage with sales, marketing and commercial team on strategic quotes and pricing activities.
- Actively monitor the competitive landscape and provide insight to the GPLM and local factory team.
- Align local sales support actions with regional Segment Managers to support business planning and focus for customer growth.
- Participate in TITLE projects to create product launch and promotional content.
- Communicate any knowleged to the GM/GPLM of protential impact of regulatory and market changes which could impact the product line or production methods.
- Identify product gaps in the current portfolio required to effectively serve the target markets and customers.
- Act as a factory lead to drive and communicate on new product development projects, and support input for the APQP process.
- Identify gaps in the local business vs. market need to find opportunities for development (products, materials, processes, services)
- Support intellectual property management and implement training for all areas of the factory (patents, NDA' s, secrecy of information).
- Assure the Investment in Manufacturing Tools policy (tooling/standard products/standard materials) are followed when working with the CSC' s.
- Collaborate with the GPLM launch and positioning of new products, materials, processes and/or services.
- Organize and execute product training to support TSS employees and customers
- Work with engineering to develop strategy for travel, product training, design activities, development projects, other measureables.
- Develop and manage product engineering budget
- Develop annual goals and conduct PEP reviews for product engineering team

3. Education and Experience
- Bachelor' s degree in engineering or business with and/or at least 5 years of related experiences in new product introduction and/or new business development
- Sales and marketing experience are desirable
Experienced in creation and implementation of annual business plans
- Proven career of high performance through both technical product and business development experiences
- Experience in change management and problem solving
